Lyle's Black Treacle in the 454g tin. Considerably darker and more bitter than golden syrup, and not interchangeable with it despite both coming out of the same refining process.
Treacle is what gives gingerbread, parkin and Christmas cake their depth and their colour. Substituting golden syrup gives you something paler and sweeter that is missing the whole point.
It also goes into treacle bread and soda bread, which in Ireland and Northern Ireland is a use at least as common as the baking one.
